Greetings from the Village Chief

Daejeong Organic Farming Green Village is a clean village where about 80 households form a community and that uses Environment friendly agricultural methods.  Our Village was the first village in Korea to grow balsam pears and export them to other countries.  Our village is a village that takes care of the health of Koreans.

Our village is located at a wide plain and we product environment friendly agricultural products such as rice, balsam pears, beans, vegetables, and etc. using only germanium and no other insecticides or fertilizers that contains chemical.   Our village is an environment friendly and cutting-edge village that personally cultivates lactobacillus microorganisms, lactic-acid fertilizers, and amino acidic organic-agrichemicals.

Daejeong Organic Farming Green Village uses yellow earth or cultivated field of what used to be the foreshore in cultivating rice bran, and other organic organisms.  We only use these cultivated organisms and not use other chemicals or fertilizers that are harmful to the human body so you don’t have to worry when buying our agricultural products.  We cordially ask you to come and experience our warm-hearted village.

Daejeong Village

Daejeong Village used to be a part of Gobu-gun, Byeolmi-myeon, but due to the reorganization of administrative distric in 1914 the village became part of Jeongup-gun, Jeongto-myeon and later on the village was named Daejong Village of Jeongu-myeon, Sanbuk-ri.  Daejeong village is the best village in Sanbuk-ri and is named Daejeong because it has a big spring in the village.  The vast plain along the Dongjin river is known as the breadbasket of Sanbuk-ri.

Yongsok golly is located in the east of the village and the rice paddies in the north are called Seom rice paddies and the northern area of this paddies is the famous one called Sojugen rice paddies.

Sinje Village

Dongjin river runs in the back of Sinje Village.  When constructing the Dongjin dike, villagers built houses in the old site where old dikes were and reclaimed the land from foreshore to use it as rice paddies.  Because the village was formed along the dikes, the village is often called “single line village” and the rice of Sinje Village is well known for its quality in Jeongu-myeon.

Samsan Village

Samsan Village is located in the eastern part of Daejung and Samsan medicinal herbs can be found in this village.  Numerous medicinal herbs can be found in Mt. Jeongto and nearby fields and although it is a small village, it is very peaceful and harmonized.  It is located 2km away in Northwest direction from the Township office and consists of 21 houses and 40 people.  Sosa village is located in Southeast direction of Samsan Village.
