This village is located 8km to the west of Kimjae City. Its boundary is Baeksan-myeon to the east, Mangyeong-eup to the north, Juksan-myeon to the south, and Gwanghwal-meyon to the west. It consists of mountains which are less than 30m above sea level and plains, and it was named "Seokdeok Mountain" because there were many gentle people because of the good mountain and river. Seokdeok Mountain was a very important place for the military; and it is the birth place of Mr. Haehak Yigi, who was a big scholar at the end of the Choseon Dynasty, so this place is the place of the royalty and has a long history that maintains the atmosphere of our hometown.

"Gangseong Lecture Hall" was built by Hwaseok Kim. Suyeonwong and it received the "3rd Adult award of Jeonbuk "on Sep, 23, 2003. Residents are proud that about 1,000 people train themselves in Taekgyeon and study Chinese literature every year. Also Nampomungo which became the village study room from May, 1984 has 5,000 books and 11 computers as the culture center of the village. Moreover, it opened the program such as information education from 2000 and Farm culture experiencing education from 2003 and many teenagers have shown a good response. We made a sister relationship with Saemaeulmungo of Bucheon city on Nov, 21, 2002 and with the Computer Research Institute of Wongwang university on June, 30, 2003 and we produce wellbeing foods such as functional potatoes, freshwater snail technique rice, vegetable worms and grape tomatoes.
