Village Introduction
Gurim-myeon looks like a basin as it is surrounded by mountains, but has broad
farms and much water supply to develop the agricultural society early. It
is assumed that it was first settled by people in Prehistoric Times, but there
is no definite evidence or record. It seems to have been a tribal nation
or group included in Ma-han during the Time of Three Hans. According to
[Pure Streams Note] published during the reign of Chosun King Yeongjo, it was
divided into Guam-bang and Murim-bang and Iam-bamg was renamed Guam-myeon in
1897³â(34th year of the reign of Chosun King Gojong). Gurim Village is
well-known for Taegeuk Water and long lifespan of the villagers. Gurim
Village is on a basin-like land 200m above sea level and surrounded by mountain
ranges. Therefore, all the waters sourcing from Gurim-myeon only flow
through by Mireuk Pavilion of Anjeong-ri. Also, it is worldly known as
a long-life village that has been introduced in Times periodicals. Multonggol
Village mostly engages in producing lettuce and mushrooms. With the pure
water, the lettuce and mushrooms of our village is nationally renowned. The
youngsters of the village actively participate in village ceremonies and the
old-aged seniors participate in the farm work to brighten and vitalize the village.
