Sunchang Gochujang Village
Sunchang-eup used to be known as Mokcheon of Mahan at the age of three han and as Dosil, one of the Sokryung in Baekje. During the Lee Dynasty it was named Sunchang. Sunchang was promoted from-myeon to eup as of May 1, 1979. |

Wanju Wanchang Village
Wanchang Village was originally a part of Undongsang-myeon in Gosan-gun, but was renamed Wanchang-ri of Unseon-myeon as Wanchang-ri and Eommok-ri was combined with Anha-ri of Undongha-myeon in 1914. It was again renamed Unju-myeon in 1935.
The village is called Wonwanchang (元完昌. 完倉) and partially Gochangmal, Banghwangdong, or Saeteo. Wonwanchang adds “Won”, which means a top village, to the original Wanchang-ri. Wanchang Village has a small stream to the right about 2km toward Mt. Daeun (Mt. Geum) on a national highway through Unju-meyon. This stream is called Okgyecheon as it is a vein of clear water through luxurious forests of Mt. Cheondeung from the southeast and Mt. Daedun from the northwest. To the north of the village is Anshim Temple that was established in the 7th year of the reign of Shilla Queen Seondeok (638 B.C.) and Okgyecheon’s waters are called Cheongryeongcheon that cools down many urban dwellers’ heat of summer every year.
The spirit of Mt. Daedun is delivered to all farm produces of Wanchang Village. The village also provides special experience programs for the urban dwellers to learn about farm lifestyles and makes additional income.
