Located in Ilwon, Punggi-eup, Yeongju, Gyeongbuk, Sobaek Mountains Punggi Hot Springs can be reached by a 2-hour drive from Seoul on Central Express Way and is about 5km away from downtown Punggi. Its hot springs is natural spring water springing from 800m-deep underground and containing huge amount of alkali fluorine. It is one of Korea's rare sulfur springs containing sulfur (1.725ppm), fluorine and bicarbonate to help chronic arthritis, neuralgia, metal poisoning, arteriosclerosis, diabetes, chronic bronchitis and skin care. There are Sobaek Mountains National Park and Buseok Temple's Muryangsu Building nearby along with scattered attractions such as Sosu Lecture Hall and Scholars' Village.
