Namdang Port
River/Lake>>
It is a local port at Cheonsu Bay-side, located 25km south from Hongseong-ub. In 10minutes distance on boat, there is the famous bamboo island, Jukdo, and Anmyeondo can be seen too. It has beautiful coastal sceneries. Cockles, which had never existed there before, have begun breeding since the seadike construction, and currently its harvest has grown so much that it has become one of Jukdo¡¯s main source of income.

At Namdang Port, lots of prawn·cockles·flatfish·armorclad rockfish etc are caught, and so every September~October since 1996 Prawn Festival is opened. Many tourists who wish to purchase freshly caught seafood directly by themselves or those who wish to enjoy the experience seek this place. Since the seadike construction, Namdang Port became easy to approach from the metropolitan areas as Western Coast Expressway was opened and coastal roads were expanded. Its population increased, the number of raw fish restaurant owners and fishermen increased, and it is becoming more vigorous day by day as a fishing tour village visited by tourists every season. Namdang Port, which is also a sphere of life for Jukdo people, is where Anmyeondo can be seen across the sea, and where the sunset is beautiful, turning everything golden. Namdang Port attracts the attention of many people with a unique sentiment it evokes.
