Hyundai Samho Heavy Industry
Principal Place/Park>>

Hyundai Samho Heavy Industry is located in Samho Industrial Complex of Samho-eup.
In about 291ha of land, they have a painting plant, dry docks, grand assembly plant, panel plants, processing plants and many more.
Two heavy-duty dry docks have three Goliath Cranes with the capacity to produce 1,500,000 tons (GT) a year.  Operating two Goliath Cranes, they can handle 1,100ton-heavy blocks, which are Korea¡¯s heaviest blocks.   Also, their capacity to handle steels reaches about 400,000 tons a year.   Haenam Bay around the plants is 12m deep in average and as it is surrounded by variously sized islands, they are free from the problems of docking large-scale ships or of the natural disasters of tornatoes or tidal waves.   Hyundai Samho Heavy Industry first produced a ship in Dec. 1996.  Since then, they have produced various medium or large scale ships, including VLCC, which is an ultra-scale oil-tanker, container vessels, chemical vessels and bulk carriers.  Ever since they sold 6 ships to the captains in 1996, they have achieved selling 100 ships within the shortest period in the world until July this year.
