Located on a highland that
rises 630m in average altitude, Gyeongsangbuk-do Arboretum is Asia¡¯s
largest and the world¡¯s second largest arboretum (3,222ha). As
a great learning center of mountainous plants, this arboretum possesses
many rare highland plants, including 179,226 roots of 1,510 species,
rare plants, and wild flowers. This facility includes 24 specialty
parks, such as the highland plants center and iris center, and attracts
many visitors for experiential learning and academic researches.
The arboretum also makes a great resource for a themed tour
to the Information Village (Farm Village Experience, Isolated Village
Experience, and Arboretum).
