[The Hall of Culture and
Arts] The Mokpo Hall of Culture and Arts is located
in 12 Yongdang-dong, Mokpo. It was built on a 3.3ha land in
a four-story 5,950㎡ building in September of 1997 and stands by
the sea in front of The Hall of Native Culture surrounded by Yeongsan
River Embankment and Daebul Industrial Complex. It has brought
energy to the activities of various municipal organizations and
native people's groups that had been overpopulated in a small citizen's
center with no preferable performance or exhibition hall, with its
six exhibition rooms and a performance theater with 698 seats. Since
the Korea-France Art Exchange Exhibition at the time of establishment,
various sophisticated performances and exhibitions have been held
here. The tourists can appreciate highly recognized artistic
pieces of Namdo anytime.
