When you look to your Northeast direction (direction to Pyochung Temple)
from Miryang Dam, Gorye Village or Pyeong-ri Village, you can see
a high mountain peak. The mountain that is stretched under the mountain
peak is called Mt. Baekma. Hyangno Mountain Peak is located at the southern
part of Mt. Baekma and takes about an hour by car to get there. Since
Hyangno Mountain Peak does not offer good views and tourist attractions, there
are not that many people who hike up to the mountain peak. On the Northeast
ridge of Mt. Baekma and Southern mountain peaks, you can see a stone wall. This
stone wall is well preserved and is called Baengmasanseong. Trees and
rocks are harmonized at the ridge of the mountain and offers great scenery.
Also, you can see the Miryang Dam on the South, Mt. Hyangno on the North
closely, and enjoy the sceneries of the range of mountains of Mt. Geumo and
Mt. Yeongchwi on the West and East. Mt. Baekma faces Mt. Hyangno and if
you follow the trails it will only take an hour to hike to the other mountain.
If you look at Mt. Baekma from Miryang Dam, Mt. Baekma looks to be a very
rocky cliff but actually the mountain peak is flat and has gentle slope. However
the northern part of the trail is very steep and has many rocks so you should
be careful when hiking up this trail.
