Ganggangsullae of Sopo
The origin of Ganggangsullae is unknown,
but the local ladies and girls leisurely
gathered under bright moons to enjoy Ganggangsullae.
During the Japanese Invasion of 1592,
the Joseon soldiers used Ganggangsullae
as a military tactic to hide the inferior
sizes of Joseon troops, to encourage the
soldiers, to boast of its military powers
of Joseon to the enemies, and to watch the
Jindo’s Ganggangsullae rooted from this
wise tactic of the Joseon Dynasty.
