Zucchini is cultivated in the institutional greenhouses of Hwajeong-myeon
by Nam River. Bocheon Village is Korea’s largest zucchini
producer and is recognized for its tasty, quality zucchini. A
large portion of its production is exported to Japan, contributing
to the local earnings.
Distribution: December - July
Hwajeong watermelon zone is a fertile land between Nam River
and Nakdong River with a good supply and discharge of water. The
cultivators have developed a unique cultivation method to pattern
the watermelons. The watermelons can have birthday, anniversary,
or other ceremonial messages on the surface to make great decorations
on top of their delicious tastes. Quality watermelons are
carefully selected and distributed.
November - June
Eggplants are pretty purple in color and contain ample amount
of vitamin C. Most eggplants grown at Bocheon Village are
exported to Japan. Our colorful eggplants stimulate appetite.
As they absorb oil, they are often used in fried dishes.
King Oyster Mushroom
grown in sawdust, king oyster mushroom has a white stem and a light
gray cap. At first, the mushroom grows as a tumbling doll
or a snowman, but the cap becomes concave as it grows. King
oyster mushroom has a dense structure and tastes similar to natural
farm produce of Bocheon Village includes hot pepper, Korean leek,
lettuce, and tomato.
