The well-drained soils and huge diurnal difference of temperatures of Neungju are also optimum for pepper cultivation. In particular, the huge diurnal difference of temperatures increases the hot substance and enhances the tastiness. As hot peppers are abundant in Vitamin A and C with various organic acid contents and calcium contents, they are valuably used as healthy food. The hot flavor of the peppers stimulates the appetite and gastric juice to vitalize the blood circulation.
Hot peppers of Neungju are planted in mid-July and produced in late Sep ~ early Oct and are widely recognized in Korea to be distributed in high prices. Through chemical-free organic cultivation, their premium quality is also recognized.
As people are becoming more interested in health, they are becoming to have more interests in hot peppers.
