Hwangtogumi Village
Gosari

It is called chamgobi or Ulleung gosari and also sold as a special product of the island.
The perennial plant that grows in Ulleung island, mountain Taebaek and Jechon has short and straight root.
Seomgosari,  of  aspidiaceae family,  is cultivated as mountain vegetables by using sporogony.



Miyeokchui

Miyeokchui grows wild in all around Korea, but Ulleung miyeokchui has bigger leaves than that of land( land what?).
It grows wild in all around Ulleung Island and contains large amounts of vitamin A, which soften the skin , and creates an increased resistance against a cold, and strengthens eyesight.








Sannamul

Sannamul is the alkaline mountain vegetable that is processed with sprouts It is produced only in Ulleung Island. It has effects on vigor, detoxication and bronchus. It also called goginamul due to its beef-like taste and is a main material of Jackson bibimbab of Hotel Shilla.










Bugiggangyee

It looks like a chuinamul and its sprout has a fantastic fragrance when used for food. During every late December through next early March, the bugiggangyee that is covered with snow isharvested and forwarded to big cities like Seoul where is demands a high price.









Deodeok

Ulleung deodeok is good to be used for food because it is soft and doesn't have core.
In Ulleung Island because half of the mountain vegetables are grown forest fields  where the farm fields aren't divided from the mountain fields, tourists sometimes gather deodeok in someone's farm regarding it as a wild mountain vegetable,.
Deodeok is a healthy food that contains various nutrition such as inorganic content, protein, lipid, hydrocarbon and vitamin B. and there are many kinds of cuisines that use it. Among them, Ulleung Island's deodeok can be directly roasted because it doesn't have a pungent taste.
