In Norumi beach, over 100 tons of King Bajiraks are produced
every year. They are also called banjirakor banjiraeki. They are the most
popular seashell among Koreans, and they live on phytoplanktons in the mud or
sand of tidal flat. Bajirak grown in tidelands have abundant taste and
nutrition. Breeding and growing is fast, and it is a big source of income for
the Byuljubu Village people because it is gathered all year-round
except for the egg-laying season between early July and mid August. Bajirak is
good to eat by making into a broth, and especially the bajirak knife-cut
noodles made with some sliced zukinis, invigorates your appetite.
