Yellow soil in Korea consists of yellow sands which drifted over hundreds of thousands of years from China.
Catalase agent, diphenol oxythase agent, sacchrarse, protease are contained in the fertile yellow soil. Those ingredients take the role of removing toxins, increasing solubility, and aiding fertilization, and purification respectively.
Especially catalase agent is known for showing the most activity among the contents of soil nowadays.
Catalase takes a role of making a suitable soil environment for by removing oxidizing agents which are toxic to living things.
These free radicals are generated by the metabolic process in the body, and accelerate aging.
These toxins in the body can be neutralized or diluted by the strong cleansing action of high-quality yellow soil.
In other words yellow soil provides the effect of restraining aging and maintaining youth.
On the other hand diphenol oxythase agent takes a role of strengthening the oxidation, dissolution of soil.
Protah agent is a ferment that hydrolyzes protein to amino acids when nitrogen in the protein becomes inorganic.
It purifies the inside of soil as a kind of dissolution.
There are several additional compounds in yellow soil and they act for themselves and are beneficial for humans.
Yellow soil which covers 10 % of the surface of the earth nowadays contains a lot of CaCo3. Yellow soil is not cracked easily by CaCo3 and is changed to clay when it meets water.
Yellow soil consists primarily of SIO2, Al2O3, iron, Mg, Na, and potassium. Yellow soil is called a living thing because it radiates atomic infrared rays a necessary for the growth of animals and vegetables, which is made of such ingredients. The eastern yellow soil which gets the most sunshine is recognized as the best yellow soil. Although oxidized iron mineral decides the color of yellow soil, the content of that is small and the main minerals which make up of yellow soil are quartz and·feldspar. Quartz makes up more than 50 % of the yellow soil.
The other minerals are clay mineral, calcite, and heavy sand minerals.
The content of quartz and feldspar changes according to the evolution step of soil.
Though quartz and feldspar had been contained in original stone, Al2O3 (clay mineral) and oxidized iron mineral are left eventually from the decomposition of both quartz and feldspar by the erosion over a long period of time. The nature of yellow soil is decided by the type of clay minerals contained in yellow soil and the type of clay minerals is decided by the geological environment, water environment, topography and temperature. Clay minerals such as kaolinite, haloithyte, illite, vermiculite, and chlorite mostly make up yellow soil.
Yellow soil has a hive structure of which surface area is large, and in which many spaces compose a double-layer structure.
Infrared rays, are absorbed and saved in the hole-filled sponge-like structure, is radiated back as heat. This structrue catalyzes molecular activities of other substances.
In other words, yellow soil can be called a "warehouse of sun energy" as a silicon mineral that has absorbed sun energy for a long time.
Efficacy of yellow soil
The most basic efficacy of yellow soil is infrared ray radiated from it.
Infrared rays activate physiological functions of the cells and have a photo-electric effect to radiate harmful materials by generating heat energy. Yellow soil which has the capability of purification and dissolution is used to counteract agents and remove toxins from the body. It also has the effect of preventing aging, promoting metabolism, preventing chronic fatigue, preventing various types of adult desease, treating burns and preventing red tide phenomena.
Especially the optimum temperature is maintained through the whole year in the yellow soil. It takes a role of ventilator which absorbs the humidity of summer time and releases it in the dry season as the wind comes in and out through the cracks of the minute particles. First of all it generates atomic infrared ray and heat energy, which is called a life ray because it activates materials the most, and radiates harmful materials for the body. Yellow soil wall and thatched house which has yellow soil ondol (a system of heating floor by using stones beneath the floor) represent Korean yellow soil culture.
Yellow soil has deep relationship with Korean culture and history. Korean ancestors not only have used yellow soil in the residence and dietary life beyond the simple range of soil but also utilized it as a health remedy. In Korea soil houses have been built with yellow soil for a long time and agricultural products have been raised on yellow soil. They also fire slabs of yellow soil and used it in healing various types of diseases. Recently its usage has become more various such as construction materials, a purification agent in fish farms, removing red tide, livestock feed additives, yellow soil room and yellow soil bed. We found a recording that shows that yellow soil was used for healing diseases in the age of Lee Dynasty.
We can find out from "Sanhae-gyung" that yellow soil remedy was used for healing the diseases of cows or horses or healing itch and tumor. There is a record in "Boncho Gangmok" and "Hangyak Jibseongbang" that soil in the fire hole was used for healing dizziness, hematemesis and paralysis. We also can find out in "Remedy to save life in royal family" that yellow soil room was used for healing King's diseases. Besides King Sejong·Sejo ordered to make 3-pyeong sized yellow soil room in their palace so that king and princes can take a rest there. In other words it was kind of "Recovery room from fatigue". Yellow soil has efficacy of healing lovesickness so there is a record that King Cheoljong -called the Ganghwa bachelor- recuperated in a yellow soil room when he suffered from the first crush left in his hometown. Yellow soil pillars were given to the person who suffered from lovesickness in civilian life, too. Other than that it was used for removing the toxin of blowfish. It is said that a man who is dying of the toxin of blowfish was healed by the method of laying him on the floor covered with paulownia leaves·Korean mandolin leaves·mulberry leaves·peppermint leaves and covering his body with yellow soil for a night.
There is a record that people in Hamgyeong Province ate rice cakes made of clay when food ran out from bad harvest under the government of Taejong. And that there is a record that people at Bongsan in Hwanghae Province ate rice cake made of 70 % soft clay and 30% straw during the famine times under the government of Seonjo. Yellow soil has special efficacy of healing burns.
A man whose whole body got serious burns was healed by the method of eating yellow soil water with his whole body except his face buried in the land.
Besides there are Jijangsu remedy, washing remedy, bathing remedy, fomentation remedy and massage remedy as health remedies by using yellow soil.
