1. Characteristics

Kidney beans are annual Leguminosae Rosales of Dicotyledoneae Family and are mostly widely cultivated throughout the world.  They are mainly produced in temperate zone including Korea, China and India.  Generally, Korea produces dark purplish kidney beans.  

As its name tells, Chunwon Black Kidney Beans have black colors and strong sweet taste to heighten the taste of cooked rice.  Chunwon Black Kidney Beans, when added to cooked rice, will provide a definitely improved taste of cooked rice.  

 

2. Nutrients and Efficacies

Kidney Beans contain high contents of Vitamin B1, B2 and B6 to vitalize the metabolism of carbohydrate for Koreans who eat rice as their staple food.  When Vitamin B1 is lacked, people become prone to develop beriberi.  Therefore, they are favored for high-quality nutritional factors combined with rice.  They also contain high fibrous substances to prevent constipation, large intestine cancer and arterial sclerosis.
