Figs are leaved shrubs of Moraceae Family and
was introduced to Korea from China in mid Chosun Dynasty (1624 - 1644). They
are mysterious fruits grown in oceanic climate and are called No-flower Fruit
as they do not display blossoms.
The fruits are generally processed into jam or snacks and distributed as
fresh fruit. According to Eastern Medicine Thesaurus, they eliminate body
poison and treat anemia, excessive fatigue, stomach and intestine troubles and
women's diseases. They are great for diarrhea, hemoptysis, hookwork, skin
disease, women's disease, hemorrhoids and bronchial asthma, strengthens stomach
and eliminate alcohol poison.
