Yeoju surrounded with Tae-baek mountains, Cha-ryung mountains and Kwang-ju mountains is excellent loess place, it has produced solid and crusty apple by supplying rich nutrition with fertile soil of high rate of silicate and organics. Moreover the location character of Yeoju apple farm near southern Han river makes apples more fragrant with sweet and sour tastes. The key point in selecting good and tasty apple is to see the color and fragrance. Color of the bottom is more important than the color of peel. Choose the red one without green color first, and then with even and bright red color. On the other hand, immature one looks harder with green color and post-matured one is dark and not glossy. Also immature one has no fragrance, matured one has good fragrance, but post matured one has unpleasant smell. In selecting Huji apple, choose the one with red color on bottom, for Aori, choose with little green color.
People tend to choose big apples, but that's not so desirable. Too big apple is not suitable for storing, has flat taste. On contrary, middle size apple is tasty, good for tasting, hard and good when eating. To eat apple in the most delicious way, don't peel and wash well. That's because Vitamin C and other nutrition are included in and just under the peel. When peeling, do it slightly. Apple's color changes when it exposed in the air after peeling. To avoid it, soak it in the saline solution with water of 1L and salt of 1g. But be careful not to make it too salty.
