Introduction
Icheon Hapssal(the year's crop of rice) Festival started since 2001 as an annual event in order to demonstrate the excellence of Icheon rice, one of the representative indigenous product of Korea, and the even includes stick-tossing game on the spot of cropping, Daljip(pile of branches of pine tree to be burnt when people hold festival under the full moon) burning, Mungsuk(straw mat) making, Saekikogi(straw rope making), and Jipsinsamki(straw sandal making).
You can taste the Deulbab(Hapssal) cooked in Gamasot(Korean large caldron used in traditional kitchen) using the rice polishing machine. The festival which includes various local agricultural products other than Hapssal, connects the farmers with tourists beyond the mere relationship between the purchaser and seller
