Introduction
It is a festival pursuing marine culture by reproducing
the original form of the Jeju¡¯s traditional method of catching
fishes, anchovy chasing and catching fishes in Wondam, and allows
the chances for residents and visitors to join together.
o Tewu : It is esteemed as the original form
of primitive fishing boat remaining in Jeju only, and is very important
folk relic in the Korean ship history.
o Anchovy catching : It is available in the fishing
village only with broad sand beach among villages around seashore.
Iho dong consisted of neighboring 5 small villages formed naturally
has been catching anchovy in the Iho swimming beach from the past.
When ships are chasing anchovy toward beach, many persons waiting
in the beach are pulling and hitting net to catch it.
o Catching fishes in Wondam : After setting stone
fence, Wondam, in the specific intertidal and catch the fishes,
caught in it after being flowed into it in the period of tide, in
the period of ebb with easy.
