Juwangsan Apples
Cheongsong, an inland area in Gyeongsangbuk-do, is one of Korea's last untapped enclaves still containing clean air and water. The average annual temperature is 12.6¡Æ, suitable for growing apples.

The fluctuation between the day's high and low temperatures averages 13.8¡Æ during the growing season. This weather condition makes the texture of apples firmer, intensifies their colors and increases the level of sugar content. As the upper area of the Nakdonggang has a low precipitation, there is an ample amount of sunlight, with the total hours of sunlight amounting to 1,520 hours between April and November.

This leaves an enticing mix of colors on apples.  The size of the area where apples are grown in Cheongsong-gun totals 1,800 ha, the fifth largest apple producing area in Korea.
Apples are the largest non-staple produce in Cheongsong-gun, accounting for 30% of total non-staple produce in the area. Each family with an apple orchard has an average of 0.8 ha of land on which they grow, larger than the national average of 0.5 ha.
Although the size of the apples produced in Cheongsong is a bit smaller than that of apples produced in other regions, their taste and quality, created by Cheongsong's unique climate, cannot be surpassed. The farmers in Cheongsong use environmentally friendly horticulture technology, enhancing the reputation of their apples as the Korea's best.

The Cheongsong honey apples that have been exported abroad grow in areas that are at least 250m above sea level, with a wide fluctuation in daily temperatures and daylight hours.  Produced in Korea's cleanest environment, the Cheongsong apples have a high level of sugar content and juice as well as firm texture and freshness. Juwangsan apples are one of the most popular mail order items throughout Korea.
